Papakura, Auckland
Hi, I’m Melody mom of 2 beautiful children. My daughter Tala (5) she’s diagnosed with brain cancer June 2023. She had multiple brain surgeries, chemo’s and radiation. My son Nicko (2) diagnosed with severe sensorineural hearing loss on his left ear.
Feb 18,2025 - I’m diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma. It’s a blood cancer in Lymphatic system. It’s classified as stage 4 because it spread to other parts of my body.
God knows what my family been through in the span of 2 years. My daughter’s treatment is an unforgettable experience. I witness my daughter being in pain but she remain brave, resilient and courageous. She taught me how to be strong. She is my survival guide.
Now, It’s my turn to beat this disease. I’ll do everything to survive. I’m still thankful despite of all this trials. Because it’s not my kids, my friends, my family, it’s me. Because God know’s that I can!
I’m getting ready for my intense chemo, that will be in 4 weeks time. I’m going for lots of testing like Lung and heart function test, pet scan to see which areas are affected.
And I need to have dental procedures before my treatment starts to avoid any infection.
I’m knocking on your kind hearts, the funds collected in this page will go towards to all my needs, transport, dental procedures, plane ticket.
Because my husband is self employed and he’s not able to stop working while I’m on treatment. I’m getting my sister to come here to help me with the kids.
Thank you very much. And I appreciate it so much
The funds collected will go towards to my Dental procedures, food packs, vitamins, personal care while on chemo, parking, gas, plane tickets for my sister
2/12 Round of Chemo 21 March 2025
After my first round of Chemo, I have been in and out from the hospital. Due to chest pain and severe abdominal pain. I had a lot of testing, I started a new medication for my pericarditis (fluid around the heart) when I got admitted for chest pain. I got discharged after 3 days. But after few days I got admitted again due to severe abdominal pain which keeps me awake at night. I have been admitted for 3 days, I had ct scan which shows that I’m constipated. And the medication I was advised to stop the additional medication for my pericarditis which contribute for my abodominal pain They found a scarring on my spine which they will monitor it.
Since I got discharged I feel much better. And I can able to eat because my mouth sores is healed before I start my 2nd round of chemo. I eat as much as possible to regain some weight before my chemo.
20/3 2nd round of chemo. It went well, apart from feeling fatigue and sleepiness after the infusion. Same thing happened from the first cycle.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who extends their kind support. My sister and my auntie from the Philippines is now here with me to support me as well on my journey beating this disease. I can now focus on getting better.
Thank you VERY MUCH! I really appreciate everyone for you kind support, for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.
May God bless you and your family, and bless you with good health! 💛
Love,
Melody x
