My Journey to the World Swimming Championships

I can hardly believe it – I’m heading to my first Swimming World Championships! It’s been a long journey to get here, full of early mornings, tough training sessions, and sacrifices. But it’s all been worth it for the chance to compete on the world stage and represent New Zealand.

I started competitive swimming at 19, when most people are thinking about stepping away from the sport. But something clicked, and I fell in love with the challenge. There have been ups and downs, but each hurdle has only made me more determined. Now, after years of hard work, I’m competing against the best in the world. It’s a dream come true.

This incredible opportunity comes with a cost – about $10,000 for travel, accommodation, competition fees, and equipment. It’s a big number, but this experience is priceless. I’m doing everything I can to raise the funds, and any support, whether financial or even just kind words, would mean so much to me.
