Both of our parents rare cancer battle

    It is with devastating news that we found out last week our father has just months left to live due to the cancer growing over the last year and only being told about it a month ago.

    Brydie (daughter) has left her job in NZ to care for him the full time care he needs.

    Alexander (son) is caring for our mum in China and is unable to leave her behind due to her health which is extremely hard not being able to be with dad.

  • China CAR-T & dad’s infusions

    Thank you so much to everyone for your generous donations. Every dollar is being used for important medical costs towards CAR-T.

    The hospital here in Kunming, China so far has been promising and what we expected.

    Mum could possibly have some serious side effects from the CAR-T in 2 weeks which could mean intensive care/ $2000 a day.

    Meanwhile dad is having blood infusions back home for his Multiple Myeloma and more tests to find out how serious that is.

  • 3 Months in China

    Maureen’s current and last funded treatment is expected to stop being effective by August.

    The only remaining option is Daratumumab — a drug funded in over 80 countries but not in New Zealand. It costs $12,000 per week.

    Thanks to your incredible support and donations, Maureen and her son, Alexander, will be traveling to Kunming, China in early August for three months to access this treatment.

    While we’re deeply grateful, this journey will be extremely challenging — being far from home, family, friends, and pets, in a foreign country, and undergoing a treatment with uncertain results.

    Please keep sharing our story to help raise awareness, and remind others how vital it is to fight for the ones you love — in any way you can.

  • 2300 mailbox flyers/posters in town

    Thank you if you’re here from the flyer in your mailbox. Our family have handed out over 2300 to help raise awareness for unfunded cancer in NZ.

    We are in close conversation with doctors in China and here for a decision very soon.

    Every dollar will be used for this massive decision and go a long way!! Thank you again, we are getting closer

  • Urgent: Final 3 Months To Raise Funds

    Thank you again to everyone who donated towards mums treatment.

    With time running out life has become so stressful as her final line of current treatment will stop working in 3 months. The next option is Daratumumab in NZ costing $150,000 or CAR-T in China costing $300,000
