Fighting cancer is tough, but doing it without financial support is even harder, any help means the world to me during this time.
Dunedin, Otago
Hi everyone,
My name is Mohammed Nabhan, and in December last year, my life changed completely when I was diagnosed with myxoid sarcoma, a rare and aggressive type of soft tissue cancer that affects connective tissues like muscles, fat, and nerves. The tumor on my back has become so painful that even simple daily tasks like standing for a while or walking have become very difficult. I have already started radiation treatment, and soon, I will have to undergo major surgery. Unfortunately, this means I won’t be able to work for the next 3 to 4 months, leaving me with no source of income.
As I am on a work visa, I don’t qualify for any government benefits, which means I am struggling to cover rent, food, electricity, and my basic living expenses while focusing on my recovery. To make things even harder, I have a huge education loan back home, and if I can’t make my payments on time, I could face serious financial and legal trouble. Without any family here to support me, I am facing this battle completely alone physically, emotionally, and financially.
This journey has been overwhelming, and while I am doing my best to stay strong, I truly can’t do this alone. That’s why I’m reaching out to ask for your kindness and support. Any donation, no matter how small, will be a lifeline for me.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support. Your help gives me hope during this incredibly difficult time.
The funds will help me cover my rent, food, electricity bill and ongoing medical expenses. These include frequent GP visits, prescription fees, and travel costs for medical appointments. Funds will also go towards daily living costs while I undergo cancer treatment and am unable to work.
