Nana's life changing surgery

Hi whanau, as you know nana (Heather) needs hip replacement surgery to give her pain-free mobility. The surgeons have estimated a total cost of around $41000. Nana cannot afford to foot this entire bill on her own.

This is surgery that she desperately needs - currently she can barely walk (needs a walker to move around her own home) and she is relying on other people to do her shopping, driving, cleaning, washing and other home help duties. She can't sleep in her bed as it is too sore, so she sleeps on her chair in the lounge every night. This is all because she is in incredible pain. She is on a concoction of painkillers but they are not eliminating all her pain and obviously extended use of painkillers is not an option moving forward due to the effect they have on her liver and other internal organs.

The surgeons have said that the operation is very high risk due to her age and other health factors, but Nana was adamant that she wants the surgery as she (in her own words) has no quality of life at the moment.

I am reaching out to Nana's extended family to help nana get this life changing surgery for her. Of course there is no pressure whatsoever, and I understand that everyone is in different financial situations themselves.
