Rasing funds for Nancy Lim to control Stage 4 lung cancer with the, currently unfunded, Osimertnib.
Auckland
Nancy Lim is a well-known engineer, a fun-loving friend, a fantastic family member, and a doting dog mum. An ever-positive and generous presence in many lives. Unfortunately, incredible personal traits haven't protected Nancy from a recent, devastating diagnosis.
After developing symptoms in March 2022, Nancy underwent months of medical testing and exploration. In September, oncologists confirmed the worst-case scenario that Nancy has Stage Four lung cancer - a terminal diagnosis.
A non-smoker and otherwise picture of optimal health, this news has been hard to accept for Nancy her family and friends. In recent weeks Nancy has, on a number of occasions, been rushed to the Emergency Department due to complications from her cancer and medication administered, severley affecting her quality of life. Although shocking, Nancy has accepted her diagnosis is ready to fight.
An option given to Nancy is a specialised course of medication to target her specific type of cancer. Called Osimertnib, it is currently unfunded by New Zealand's Pharmac and has an expected cost of $11,000 per month to Nancy. While Osimertnib will not cure her cancer, it will go a long way in improving Nancy's quality of life, and may extend it.
Donating to this page is a way to support Nancy in her fight to control the Stage 4 lung cancer by funding her treatment. If you cannot support monetarily, messages of support and love will be equally appreciated by Nancy and her family.

Nancy intends to use any money raised to fund Osimertnib, a currently unfunded but promising drug specifically targeted to control the type of lung cancer she has been diagnosed with.
