We are a group of 40 students representing Napier Girls and Napier Boys High School combined, to raise funds to participate at the 2018 Secondary Schools, National Kapa Haka Competition held in Palmerston North in July.

The majority of students, either come from a Kapa Haka background or they’re participating as it’s something they love, they enjoy and also connects them to their Māori culture.

The majority also, this is a first time experience, and an opportunity as a group to compete against some of the best Secondary Schools Kapa Haka groups attending from around the country.

We want to represent our school, our iwi, our family’s and our selves to the highest standard we can deliver through trainings and especially on the performing stage.

Use of funds

To support the group with travel, accommodation and uniforms expenses.
