Nathan has been selected as a member of the World Hopes Table Tennis Team
Nationwide
After Nathan's phenomenal performance in Slovenia at the World Hopes Championship in June he has been selected to represent the World Hopes team.
Selection in this side was only possible due to everyone's generous contributions last time. It is special that people got behind Nathan in such a great way and this motivates Nathan to perform at his best.
Nathan will travel to Toronto in October for intensive training and then fly down to Barbados to represent the World Hopes team at the World Cadet Challenge.
The Cadet category is for athletes in their 13th and 14th year of age so considerably older than our 10 year old champ.
Nathan was selected due to his ability, potential and work ethic. The coaches see plenty of opportunity for him to be a great player and this is a real endorsement of his dedication to his sport.
He will receive training and support from the International Table Tennis Federation which will cover a lot of costs. However there are still other costs like ongoing training to prepare, part of the flights for player and coach etc that we need to raise funds for.
If you have already given to Nathan to help get him to Slovenia please give again. You don't need to break the bank. Every donation will help.
He has plans to represent NZ at the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics. This experience will help.
