PADA is hosting a Parliamentary Breakfast as part of a National Call to Action for Maternal Mental Health.
Pipitea, Wellington
PADA works to reduce stigma around perinatal mental health by educating service providers, including midwives, GPs, and counsellors, on trauma-informed and culturally appropriate care.
We are planning a Parliamentary Breakfast as part of a National Call to Action for Maternal Mental Health on 31st July 2025. This event aims to unite government, healthcare providers, community leaders, lived experience whānau, and mental health advocates to drive long-term change in maternal mental health services.
At the heart of this gathering is a commitment to fostering a lasting partnership between government and community to improve maternal mental health services and outcomes.
Our goals for the event are to:
Highlight ongoing barriers to screening and early intervention
Share a vision for a compassionate maternal mental health system
Strengthen the voice of the Maternal Mental Health Alliance
Establish a foundation for ongoing engagement between policymakers and communities
This event will stand apart in its purpose and experience, with an interactive journey helping attendees understand the challenges of maternal mental distress and lack of support.
We understand these are challenging financial times, but any support would be appreciated. Costs include:
$4,350 – Venue hire
$5,800 – Catering (200 people)
$5,657 – Technology hire
$1,000 – Sponsorship for travel for speakers attending
Your support would be invaluable, and we would be delighted to welcome you to the event.
We work to eliminate the stigma around perinatal mental health in Aotearoa by championing awareness and facilitating best practice in perinatal mental health and wellbeing to ensure all whānau have equitable access to appropriate information and support.
