Please share my story. Neck Cancer (Carotid Artery) Palliative care.

PLEASE SHARE MY STORY..

Hi my names Wayne Latimer, I'm 53 years old and Sadly I've been diagnosed with Hypopharyngeal Cancer which has encased my Carotid Artery.

Since November 2021 I've had many PET CT scans and Biopsys.

My 1st day of Chemotherapy started on the 13.01.22 Due to the side affects I suffered, Doctors altered the medication for my 2nd chemo on the 03.02.22 During this treatment I ended up having a Anaphylactic reaction to the drug with respiratory arrest, my heart stopped for about 3 minutes and full CPR given, I had a stroke effecting movement in my right arm and hand.

After further tests and consultations,

An appointment was made to discuss my options...

A Laryngectomy (Surgery) was no longer an option due to the high risks.

Have no treatment giving me no more than 6 months life

Palliative Care with a low dose chemotherapy (there is risks of having another stroke)

Immunotherapy treatment called Keytruda.. unfortunately this isn't funded in NZ and the cost for treatment is $90,000.

if your in a position to help raise the funds for the Immunotherapy treatment, it will be hugely appreciated.
