Raising funds to donate to people in Nepal and to the NGO Kay Garnay Nepal so they can continue doing great things in Changu Nararyan.

In 2015 I went to Nepal along with two other people, to help in some way after the earthquakes. We were not attached to any organisation and we raised funds specifically for the task of building shelters for people who lost their homes. We were introduced to families purely by chance - simply by walking around a badly affected village called Sankhu. We built a modest 10 houses and one of my friends returned later in the year after raising several thousand through Givealittle and was able to build many more shelters. We also provided a resettlement camp with enough food to feed its several thousand homeless for two weeks and provided some money for new born baby vaccinations. In December this year I will return to Nepal. I am going to follow-up on the families who we built shelters for (most of whom are still residing in them nearly four years later!). I want to be able to donate funds to enable people to purchase gas for cooking and other necessities as it will be winter, and cold. I also plan to volunteer with the NGO Kay Garnay for Nepal and would like to donate funds to them so they can continue to do the amazing work they do for the village of Changu Narayan, where I stayed during my last visit. We take so many things for granted here in New Zealand, such as fresh clean drinking water, technology, warm homes in winter ... these people have very little yet are so open-hearted and kind; yet prepared to invite you into their meagre homes for food. Donations from you can help immensly.
Money will go towards gas, blankets, and the NGO Kay Garnay Nepal who deliver education and literacy programmes and other key contributions to the village of Changu Narayan.
