Outline Purpose Of Event

This show has been in the pipeline for coming up 3 years now, this year I was motivated by my father in law to jump in the deep end, take a risk and go for it. This show was always going to be to raise money for someone, that someone was Melissa Kerr: A brief outline about Melissa is below (Copied from Facebook).

Our vibrant and lovely Mel has recently been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Please join us in supporting Mel on her journey to health and well-being :)

Description

"Melissa Kerr, a dear friend, sister and daughter, has recently been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, a cancer originating from white blood cells called Lymphosites. Our goal is to raise $10 000 for her in 2014 to ease the financial burden of chemo and radiation therapy, and all that goes with it."

"Mel is one of those people who makes those around her smile. She's a 21yr student in her 2nd yr of University studying a Double Major Anthropology and Criminology & Computer Science and Psychology. Mel is a humble and positive girl with a bright future and we want to get as many people on-board her journey to health and well-being:)"

I had set this fundraiser up with Chante Botica (Frano Botica's daughter) who is a close friend of Melissa's.

On the 30th July 2014 Melissa posted on Facebook:

"So I have had the official word...I am clear of cancer!!! I have kicked cancers ass!!!! I'm so happy right now and can't thank everyone enough!! Wee thinks are definitely looking up"

On the 12th May 2014 was youngest sister took her life, it was the hardest thing my family had been through and still going through, after hearing of Melissa's great news I didn't want to raise money for anything else but suicide "something".

On the 25th June 2014 I attended a step up meeting at the Zeal building (Westwave), after this meeting I went next door to listen to a group of Pacific peoples talk about suicide, to cut a long story short I listened, I heard, I was sold. I knew that LeVa was the charity I had to raise money for.
