New family scammed and now more bad luck

$370 donated
Given by 10 generous donors in around 5 months

Myself my partner and our newborn baby were a victim of a property scam by a person well known to police.

Whangarei, Northland

My partner and I were a victim of a property scam, that left us out of pocket. $3600 for bond money and rent in advance by a person well known to police, who has been doing scams of all types and nature since 2006 and is currently still doing so.

Despite times called for despite measures, we were close to our due for our little who is born now. Having to live apart for various reasons. we were about to start growing our family together. already having children (my partners kids) we thought we were given an opportunity to have a home. we had discuss such thing with my step children like who would shear rooms and how things would look. thinking we had secured a house for us to be a family under one roof with my step children visiting regularly, which unfortunately we were wrong.

This lady took our vulnerability and used it against us. Having a video call to interview us and even talking with my mother as a reference to seeing our faces when she said she would rent to us knowing full well she never had a house to rent in the first place. my partner and I broke down thinking we finally did it. feel free to read our article on the advocate or New Zealand herald.

Sadly as the title of our update says more bad luck.
