Support for Malcolm

  • More slow improvements

      20 November 2023

Well, we can now add getting into the pool to Malcom's list of achievements so far. And he seems to have enjoyed it!. And the carers and physio are being great. He wil enjoy going back each week, and im sure Kiera would live getting in the pool with him when she is not at school.

He has had a couple of trips out with physio in his wheelchair, getting around the road for some fresh air and familiarisation of the hazards he may face. Something most of us forget about. High curbs, bumps in the path etc are all something he will need to keep aware of. Things are slowly progressing and i know that gets frustrating. Some days are better than others. Still needs his dart board set up but that will be down stairs and a way needs to be sorted for him to get there internallh rather than ouf and around the garden. New photos will be coming soon too.

  • Support for Malcom

      2 September 2023

Malcom has been home just over a month now and things are starting to get into a routine. He has some lovely folk eho assist himwith his pwrsonal cares, and young Kiera is even getting in on the act. There have been a few trips out in the van they have on loan until ond is sorted for them, and the family are all thankful for the support being shown. Enquiries are even being made about hiw to get back into darts from his wheelchair. Sone days are easier than others with memory and focus, and that is still to be expected. But all in all our good mate is starting to adapt. Thank you to all who support him.

  • Malcolm's going home

      16 July 2023

All going well, Malcolm is going to be discharged from the spinal unit in 27th July. Then the next step begins...adjusting to his new home life, community rehabilitation etc. We are all so thankful to everyone who has donated so far. Your support for Malcolm, Maree and Kiera is amazing.
