Nga Anahera O Te Awakairangi (Angels of Lower Hutt)

We are a group of individuals who have seen a need in our community 'Lower Hutt', and that is "The Homeless and Those Struggling To Make Ends Meet and Put Food On The Table.

So we have come together as a group of like minded people, and over the past 2 - 3 months, every Friday evening and we put on a meal for anyone that is hungry, we also supply warm clothing, both new and secondhand. We also act as volunteer advocates for anyone that needs one.

Unfortunately we have been doing this with no backing or funding and dig deeeeeeeep into our own pockets (We don't own businesses or have high paying jobs, we struggle just as much as the people we help) and those around us who are willing to donate what they can to support the cause.

Our children also get involved in what we do, setting up, cooking, serving and packing down.

We have become more of a family now, than a community group.

But still we can not do this without the help of others.
