Once in a Lifetime opportunity for Nga Hoia o Ihu Karaiti Kapa Haka Group (Soldiers for Christ) to perform in Samoa Independence Day
Northland
Nga Hoia o Ihu Karaiti is a Christian Kapa Haka performing group, situated in a small northern town called Kaikohe, which is a town in the Far North District of New Zealand.
Most of our children in this group have been together for over 3 years, and have participated in annual event for the Te Tai Tokerau Festival, firstly 3 years ago in Otamatea in 2016, for the Kaikohe Christian School.
There has been an overwhelming demand for their beautiful waiata (song) that the group performs, and the ministry that they fellowship through their waiata (song). They were given an opportunity to travel to China in 2017, but this trip was cancelled for unforeseen circumstances.
The volunteers and the children of the group have been given another opportunity to travel to the beautiful Islands of Samoa to attend the Samoan Independence Day festival, on the 1st June 2018, which is in 6 weeks.
For most of these children this will be an experience, where they may never get an opportunity to do again in their lifetime. Most of these children have put in a lot of hard work to get here, for their whanau (families), their school, our small community (Kaikohe), and also staying true followers of Christ.
We are asking for large donation to help our group achieve this goal for our children and the volunteers, we are all in fundraising mode for the next few weeks to make this happen, for our children. At this time we have only 6 weeks to go, and we must come up with a solution financially to make this journey happen.
I am an volunteer helper and the mother of a child, that has been given this opportunity to travel to the beautiful Island of Samoa.
These funds are to help with some of the flights to get to Samoa and all expenses that may occur, to assist the groups mission. If this target exceeds the amount requested, we have another opportunity to travel to Hawaii in the next few months
