Help provide non-funded cancer treatment for Nicola diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer.
Darfield, Canterbury
Prior to illness, Nicola was a healthy active woman leading a full and busy life with her husband Shane, and two gorgeous daughters, Charlie, 12, and Lulu 11.
In July 2021 Nicola was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. Testing found that cancer had also spread to her liver. Nicola underwent chemotherapy to reduce the cancer, with the hope to operate and remove the tumours in her liver. Nicola had her operation removing 70% of her liver in December 2021. Chemo and radiation began to reduce cancer in her bowel so they could then remove her bowel and hopefully be cancer free. Unfortunately, the cancer returned to her liver.
This was a big blow and quite hard to take but in true Nicola fashion, she boxed on having recently completed more chemo to reduce the new tumour in her liver. The tumour did not reduce enough to operate and subsequently spread to her lungs. Nicola will now undergo more chemo to stop the spread and hopefully reduce the liver tumour.
The specialists have offered other drugs, Avastin and Cetuximab which could give Nicola precious time with her family. However, these drugs are not funded. The aim of this page is to raise $70,000 to help fund this drug. If you are able to help it would be much appreciated, every little bit helps!!
