Nicole Bradley's Hammer Throwing Trip Europe 2016

  • Journey

      17 April 2016

7 weeks post initial injury (still not allowed to turn) where I had basically two bad discs either torn or bulged! It was a minor injury which has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for me physically & mentally! Due to this injury, I am having to postpone my trip to France. I have already changed my flights and am heading over in september/october. I will still be in Europe for about 6 weeks. I am going to be training with the current no three in the world. This training camp/trip is still very important for my growth as an athlete and my campaign to the commonwealth games in 2018. So my team and I have decided to postpone a few months. Thank you to everyone who has donated to my trip, I am still going to go soon. I am preserving my body now to ensure I come back/stay healthy for my athletic ambitions. No one is more heartbroken than I am.Thanks to colleagues/family/friends/coaches for listening to me complain! What doesn't kill me will make me stronger! I want to become the best athlete that I can be!

Just an update. I hit a bit of a barrier in my training recently. I had an aggravated disc which stopped me from competing at NZ Nationals. The plus news is that I am a a lot better, and everyday have less and less pain. The trip is still on and I cannot wait to head over to France/Germany. Thank you everyone for your unlimited support. It has been a bit of a tough road as of late, but hey, if it wasn't this hard I wouldn't know how much I wanted it. Just makes me hungrier for bigger and better performances. xx Nicole

Ladies & Gentlemen. Thank you for your generous donations towards my trip to Europe. The support I have received so far through a fundraising event and through this givealittle page has been overwhelming. I have already raised approximately $1500 dollars towards this goal of mine. It has been a long and slow journey towards this point, but dreams do come true! I'll keep you updated. :D Nicole.
