Nicole Bradley's Hammer Throwing Trip/Competition in Europe Tour 2016

Auckland

I am a NZ Women's Hammer Thrower (Athletics).I am a three time National Champion. I am completely self funded and receive no sponsorship for this. My aim is to be funded and supported by High Performance Sport New Zealand in the near future. Over the years, my family and close friends have helped me attend some vital competitions in New Zealand. Being a self funded athlete, it can be rather challenging to attend all the competitions necessary to improve my throwing. I currently work full time as a radiographer at North Shore Hospital to help support my huge athletics ambitions. The next stage for me is to compete internationally. I am campaigning for Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018. I am going to travel to Europe and compete in France. I am going to train alongside the bronze medalist in Women's Hammer Throw from the World Championships in 2015 (Alexandra Tavernier). At this stage, this trip will cost at least $8000. Any contribution, small or large would be greatly appreciated. I understand the value of money and am thankful no matter what your are able to give. This is also for people unable to attend fundraisers. :D Kia Ora! Time to make you all proud. xx

Journey  17 April 2016

7 weeks post initial injury (still not allowed to turn) where I had basically two bad discs either torn or bulged! It was a minor injury which has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for me physically & mentally! Due to this injury, I am having to postpone my trip to France. I have already changed my flights and am heading over in september/october. I will still be in Europe for about 6 weeks. I am going to be training with the current no three in the world. This training camp/trip is still very important for my growth as an athlete and my campaign to the commonwealth games in 2018. So my team and I have decided to postpone a few months. Thank you to everyone who has donated to my trip, I am still going to go soon. I am preserving my body now to ensure I come back/stay healthy for my athletic ambitions. No one is more heartbroken than I am.Thanks to colleagues/family/friends/coaches for listening to me complain! What doesn't kill me will make me stronger! I want to become the best athlete that I can be!
