Fundraising for unfunded cancer treatment for Nigel
Southland
Nigel Cramond and his family have been faced with another hurdle as he continues his battle with bowel and liver cancer. Alongside coping with the side effects of ongoing treatments and medications, they have been told that his current treatment is no longer effective.
He has been offered the chance to try a double immunotherapy regimen: Keytruda, a funded drug, and Ipilimumab (Yervoy), which is not funded.
The cost per treatment is $10,354.10, made up of:
• $8,154.10 for Ipilimumab
• $2,200 for consultation and administration costs
After four treatments, doctors hope to know whether this new approach is working. As Nigel begins this next phase of treatment, we are entering the new year with fingers and toes crossed, hoping for a miracle.
This page has been created to help fund this treatment and give Nigel the very best chance possible.
Comments from his workmates and friends:
“Caring, kind, the go to man who never judged, just listened, supported and was a huge reason our Fonterra team felt like a family.”
“He is a much loved member of our Wed night doubles tennis and we can't wait to see him back on the court."
He played football for the Gore Wanderers Div 2 team and wants to be well again to kick around a ball with his two young sons.
We would like to thank everyone for their support and generosity throughout the earlier stages of his treatment.

Nigel is so appreciative of everyone's generosity.
He has just had his second treatment and is very hopeful the Ipilimumab is working.
