Last Thursday the 16th of June, Don Neely quietly slipped away surrounded by family. While he achieved some of the highest accolades in cricket, kids cricket always bought the biggest smile to his face. If you are thinking of sending flowers, please make a donation to this page instead. The proceeds will be passed onto the Wellington Cricket Trust to specifically invest in a junior cricket project. Don (my father) was a life time servant of Wellington Cricket and would be delighted to know that his final contribution helped the next generation of kids fall in love with the Summer Game

Don's contribution to cricket is immeasurable. His contribution to the Basin Reserve and cricket in Wellington will remain as an integral part of its history. The visual images hanging on the walls in the Hadlee Pavilion, Hagley Oval will always remind me of Don's wonderful contribution to the history of cricket in Canterbury. My thoughts are with Paddianne and family. Don will live forever in the history of New Zealand cricket.
