Nola’s support network, her children, need to be with her for her recovery. If you would like to help our whānau, please consider donating.

On Friday 13 August, our beautiful and vivacious mum was hit by a car while out walking. She sustained significant injuries to her neck and spinal cord.
Mum was flown to Christchurch where she underwent surgery to fuse together some of the vertebrae in her neck. It’s likely she will be transferred to Burwood Spinal Unit this week for recovery and rehabilitation. Due to the swelling and bruising around her spinal cord, Mum’s long term prognosis is uncertain.
Mum will be in Christchurch for the next few months. She has a very long and very bumpy road ahead of her. What she needs more than anything right now is to have her support network, her children, with her. We are spread over NZ and the world; Adam lives in Dunedin, Riley lives in Whanganui, and Perry is currently in America. He has applied for an urgent MIQ spot to be by Mum’s side.
While we are aware there will be some ACC funding in the next few weeks, there will still be significant costs to cover while we split out time between Mum, and our own young families in our respective cities. All funds will go towards flights, accommodation, public transport, and food and living costs, while we navigate this treacherous journey alongside our dear mum.
I (Riley) am Nola's daughter and key support person.
Flights, accommodation, public transport, and food and living costs. Any remaining funds will be donated directly to Life Flight - We are forever grateful for the care and support they showed Mum while transferring her to Christchurch.
