Northland

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT OUR NANA!!!

A woman with so much to give left with so little.

We are reaching out, to our family and friends of New Zealand... In light of recent flash flooding events in Northland, which has left our Nana Carol with nothing, we, her grandchildren are reaching out for monetary support to help our Nana get back on her feet again.

On Friday night (17th July) our Nana, Carol, was evacuated with the help of fire and police crews. The water quickly starting pouring through her front door, windows, and every opening of her small rented Unit in Morningside, Whangarei.

With no time to pack, Carol was assisted out of her home and left with nothing, just the clothes on her back. The water levels had risen to her chest and everything she owned was submerged in muddy water. Our Nana was just one of the multiple homes that were seen evacuated that night by emergency services, with her street being one of the worst affected areas in central Whangarei.

Almost everything she owned is unsalvageable. She does not have any insurance.

Carol didn't own a lot so it breaks our hearts to see what she had left is now gone. There wasn't much storage space in her home therefore everything was in piles on the floor. All furniture, clothing, food, countless memories (hundreds of photo albums, artwork) have all been destroyed.

At 72 years old Carol is one of the most hardworking, selfless, and extraordinary characters we know, and anyone who knows, or has met Carol will know that she can light up any room with her unique and daring energy. Our Nana is one in a million, who, at this age is still working a physical job alongside volunteering at the local school for 'The Breakfast Club.' (an organisation that serves children in low decile schools breakfast) Carol is either seen walking around town running errands, introducing herself on local buses, or picking up rubbish in the community! She believes it is important to keep active and busy- That's our Carol, and we are so lucky to call her our Nana.

Although she doesn't have a lot, she has the biggest and brightest heart, with so much to give! Which is why we want to show her how much she means to us and everybody in the community by giving it back through this Give A Little page. Any donation will be greatly appreciated as we try and help our nana get back on her feet again!

Thank you all very much in advance.
