Please help the Norty North Movement get to Wellington for the Def Jam Showcase One Song One Shot Comp.

Northland

Norty North Movement is collective of individual artists who have collaborated together on an album representing our unique Northland style and bringing back real hip hop. Our sound is a mixture of hip hop, reggae, roots and soul, influenced by growing up in rural communities from Whangarei to Moerewa to Kaitaia/Ahipara and day to day struggles faced within our communities. We use our music to uplift others in similar situations and inspire them to chase their dreams.

Def Jam, one of the world biggest labels is sending their A&R man to Aotearoa on a scouting mission.

We performed at a showcase in Auckland, alongside lots of other incredible hip hop, r'n'b, and urban music acts in front of some tough judges. And we have been selected to perform one song, in front of Def Jam's A&R man. This is a rare chance, and only 16 acts have been chosen from all over the country to perform for him.

We are passionate and ready to give it everything we got. We need to get from Te Tai Tokerau to Poneke! And that's where we need your help.

We will get 5 of the core crew members to Wellington by the 10th of December to perform for Def Jam. We figure we need about 2k for transport & accomodation for a couple of days in the capitol city - the first time for most of us!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
