New Zealand Deaf Lawn Bowls Travel to Scotland for the 9th International Deaf Bowls Championships 2023.
From the 1st to 14th September 2023 the NZ Deaf Lawn Bowls team will be heading to Edinburgh Scotland to play in the 9th International Deaf Bowls Championships. The team will consist of 12 men & women all hand selected through trials (held in New Plymouth October 2022) to travel to Scotland.
These Championships have run since 1992 with the first being held in Melbourne Australia. New Zealand have had team representation in all the Championships since then, including in Christchurch New Zealand in 2019 where they placed 2nd overall.
As the Championships are held in Scotland the cost to the team is higher due to the high currency conversion (NZ to GBP) rates and unfortunately Covid has limited their fundraising efforts for the past two years which is why we have decided to create this Give A Little Page.
Unfortunately we do not receive any Government funding, or funding from Sports NZ.
I am a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) and have the permission of the NZ Deaf Lawn Bowls Team to create this fundraising page on their behalf.
The funds raised through this page will be used for:
- Uniforms
- Flights and other Transport Requirements
- Accommodation
Funds will be paid out to Dennis, the President of the International Deaf Lawn Bowls Championships
