Help the NZ Downhill Skateboard Team get to Argentina!
Nationwide
The New Zealand Downhill Skateboarding team are heading to Argentina in November for the World Skate Games. World Skate is the governing body officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee. Every country will be sending their top six male and female athletes to compete at this world championship event, and we are no exception! Our team is facing some significant costs to get over there, and unfortunately there isn't official funding available.
Team members are:
- Josh Evans, 27 - Brisbane @happy_lil_jev
- Elissa Mah, 32 - Christchurch @_hazecat
- Zain Solanki, 23 - Auckland @armani_amc
- Elliot Melling, 29 - Auckland @getpossumed
- Matty Boortman, 36 - Auckland @lostoutwest
- Callum Mathieson, 34 - Christchurch @calllum_banks
- Stephen Davis, 25 - Auckland @stephen_davis24
Here is how you can help! We would be eternally grateful for any donations to help the team get to the games.
Donations will be put towards the following per athlete:
- Travel - NZD4500 on flights alone
- Insurance - NZD400
- Registration - NZD250
- Equipment - wheels, protective gear, and wear and tear parts such as bearings will cost each athlete around NZD800
- Living costs - food and accomodation are estimated at about NZD150/week
I am one of the seven team members
Travel (chiefly, flights), insurance, registration, equipment, living costs
