New Zealand Representative Athlete in Need of Surgery

    Hello everyone.

    Again I want to thank everyone for you kind support. Everything we have raised has gone a long way to making this surgery a little more affordable.

    Just an update on my surgeries for all that are interested. I had my first surgery on December the 15th and it was a successfull one. My right hip is well on its way to recovery. Yesterday which was the 15th of February I had my the surgery for my left hip which was also a successful one. The specialist is very optomistic thst I will be back in time for the world championships in November this year better than ever.

    In the meantime I hope I get to see all of you around at the tournament, at training or just out and about. Don't be afraid to hello and have a chat to me about all my procedures

  • Continuing to fight

    First of all I want to thank everyone for all the support I have been receiving, it is truly humbling to see.

    This update is about my decision to continue to fight while I am waiting for my surgery. After discussions with the doctors and physio I have decided to continue to fight up until I have my surgery. I believe that it is important for me to continue to fight while I still can to maintain my levels as much as possible before the surgery where I will have to take considerable time out of training to focus on recovery. I have been working with the doctors and a physio to adapt my training so that I am able to still compete at a high level and manage the pain and prevent too much further damage from occurring.

    So I will hopefully see you back out there in the ring soon!
