Jamie Durant has been selected for the Men's U20 WP Squad that will represent NZ at both the Australian Cup & the Nations Series in Canberra
Auckland
Our son, Jamie Durant has just been selected for the New Zealand Water Polo Men's U20 Development Squad that will represent New Zealand at both the Australian Cup as well as the Nations Series in Canberra, Australia in December this year.
This is a big moment for him and the squad, and means they’ll be training hard over the coming months - and we couldn’t be prouder of them.
Being part of a New Zealand squad comes hand in hand with more practice, travel, and the need for professional support services, and some parents are fundraising to help reduce the financial pressure on the players and the squad.
Even with financial support from Water Polo NZ, each player is looking at more than $7,000 to cover training camps, travel, accommodation, uniforms, and other essential costs.
Fundraising reduces costs for the players and the whole squad.
So we've set up a Givealittle page for Jamie to help raise some of the funds.
If you’re in a position to contribute, or know anyone in your network you might be interested, we'd really appreciate the support.
All donations are tax deductible too!
Thanks so much for your time, and for helping back the next generation of Kiwi athletes.
