35yr old mother of 3 - Currently ranked #1 in the world - Training to turn that into a World Championship title in Toronto July 2020.

Imagine that feeling of re-igniting your passion after 15 years, and 3 kids...
Finding that part of you, that you thought you had lost... then passionately and relentlessly training for 3 years to rise to the top of your sport.
That's me, Helena Dinnissen, mother of 3 and athlete.
World ranked #1 W35 Heptathlete.
Oceania & NZ record holder (Sprints, hurdles and jumps)
New Zealand's Fastest Mum.
Living this crazy journey of chasing the dream I thought I would never achieve, while balancing parenting young kids, work and life!
Join my support crew, as I share my journey, passions and lessons while striving for a World Masters Athletics Championship Title (or several) in Toronto July 2020. I am competing in the Heptathlon, 100m, 200m, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump & 100m Hurdles.
My Story:
From a talented athlete in my teens, to spending most of my 20's struggling through depression, and anxiety while living with the regret of not pursuing my sport.
At 32, after 3 kids, I ignited that dream again after starting to get fit & healthy, beginning by running in the Christchurch half-marathon 2017. Then more than 2 years of hard lessons, injuries and highs and lows, as I've strove to relearn to sprint, jump and hurdle.
And now in 2020, at 35, I'm ranked the best in the world in my age grade and one of the best in New Zealand in the open grade, competing against athletes over 10 years younger than me.
With 3 young kids, and training 5-6 days a week, I have had to drastically reduce my working hours, and that's where my fundraising comes in. To continue to put the time and energy required to be the best in the world, I need to be able to focus on my training. It is genuinely a hard balance, to pursue this passion without it taking me too far from my family when they need me.
The finances raised are split over the cost of the last part of our domestic season so I can compete at our top level open grade events: February-March, including travel, competition fees and accommodation (Around $2000 needed now) This is vital part of my build up, as there will be no available competitions over winter.
The costs of the next 4-5 month build-up, then travel to compete in Toronto in July. The competition will run over 10-11 days.
Any support or sponsorship, from individuals or businesses would be so greatly appreciated. If you do wish to partner and want to discuss how I can reciprocate, or support your business too. Please be in touch. I love coaching, teaching and public speaking. So if you think NZ's fastest mum might also be good for your brand, we should talk!

New NZ Record in the Long Jump! 25 February 2020
Thank you all for the support thus far, been a hard and exciting few weeks with some injury niggles. But despite it all, I'm stoked to have jumped a new Personal Best at the Canterbury Championships this past weekend and extended the NZ W35 record out to 5.89m!
