OBC's Cricket Pavilion Redevelopment at Elmwood Park

$2,393 of $100,000 goal
Given by 14 generous donors in over a year

We are fundraising for our Pavilion redevelopment in order to replace the run-down, earthquake damaged Clubhouse at Elmwood Park!

Canterbury

Despite OBC being the largest Cricket Club in the South Island, with over 500 current playing members and 60 registered teams this summer to cater for, we lack an adequate Clubhouse. Currently at Elmwood Park the old Clubhouse is dilapidated and earthquake damaged - and our changing rooms were demolished after the earthquakes, so we are now in port-a-coms - which we have been stuck in since 2011.

Our Committee has been working tirelessly to provide better facilities for our Club members. With such a rich history and so many proud members, it is time to provide them (and the community in general) with a better facility at Elmwood Park.

We've spent years developing this plan, and the Pavilion redevelopment will be something everyone can be proud of for generations to come. Somewhere people can feel welcome and safe, and come to enjoy each other's company, somewhere to display our Club's memorabilia which dates back as early as 1924 - but has been out of sight and out of mind since the earthquakes.

We've got the approval from the Council Community Board, we've got the concept designs and we've raised over half the money required to make this a reality. It's time to turn the page and start an exciting new chapter - but the Club needs your help - any contributions to our fundraising efforts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks !!

About us

OBC's objective is to foster, control, promote, advance and encourage the game of cricket, accommodating players of all ages and abilities. OBC aims to strengthen communities through the provision of sport & recreation to promote health and wellbeing.

Use of funds

The money raised will go directly towards making the planned Pavilion a reality for the Cricket Club. We so far have around $500,000 of the $1million needed for the new pavilion and practice nets.

For OBC, a club with a worthy women's section with some lovely people involved, like Mandie, Katey, Emma, Missy, Meg, Allie, Abby, Ady ... just to name a few. Elmwood Park is also my late Mother's childhood local park.
