Octavia the Brave! Help us help Octavia …

Octavia is a beautiful 2 year who fills our days with giggles! Just before Octavia turned two she was diagnosed with Jordan’s Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder with symptoms that include global development delay, low muscle tone, large head, possible seizures, speech delay.

Octavia, at two years old, is not able to crawl, walk, talk and other important milestones. Despite this, we have hope and we are doing everything we can to support her!

The first 3 years are so critical for brain development and as we head into the final third of this we are ready to up the ante!

Excitingly, we have been accepted into The Centre of Movement, an intensive paediatric rehabilitation course newly opened in Rotorua that offers intensive therapy with a range of therapists for 3 hours a day, 5 days a week for 3 weeks. So much motor planning and neuroplasticity.

This is the best option we have found to help Octavia meet her potential and exceed everyone's expectations. We would so love to give Octavia this opportunity, but it is at a big cost. The course is estimated to be $8,200. Ideally we would be able to do two block courses next year.

Our dream is for Octavia to be able to sit herself up, crawl, walk and communicate. This course is an opportunity to make great leaps towards this. We know we have a village behind us and that Octavia has a big fan club cheering her on. If any of you are able to contribute to Octavia’s story including her first steps we would be so very grateful.
