Supporting the development of Ohakune lodge retreat so as to enable this venue to be accessible to all.
Wellington
The Anglican Diocese of Wellington are setting up a retreat/lodge and we would like you to be part of it. The lodge is all about building community in our neighborhoods and Ohakune
This initiative is about being family for the wider "Anglican Movement" and all those we travel with.
Its about developing a 100-year-old Anglican church hall in Ohakune into a lodge/retreat for both summer and winter. Presently the hall has facilities which we want to expand into is a 20-bed lodge for active recreation and retreat.
This is our opportunity:
in the 2019 summer, we will complete the building work, and in winter 2019, we open the lodge for rest, recreation and retreat. The ski season starts on the 14th of June, so we thought that would be a great time to kick things off.
We hope all the work and staffing of the lodge will be on a volunteer bases but we are looking for funds for building materials. ie insulation, heating, plumbing and electrical insulation and bringing the building up to code.
So if you want to support this initiative financially then we would be grateful.
Of course you could volunteer to help and your welcome to come stay.
Planning starts today, construction starts January 25th 2019, and completion will be by the 9th of June 2019.The new sparkling space opens for ski season on the 14th of June.
Anglican Movement is a group of churches called to develop young people, families and communities, bringing wellness through knowing Jesus.
This particular project is around the development of the "Ohakune Lodge Retreat" project . Construction and fit out so as the building is fit for purpose. (day to day bookings and catering for guests)
The money will be spent on building materials, to bring the building up to code to accommodate and cater for 20 people to stay in the lodge. ie plumbing electrical fire protection, heating and insulation. along with fit-out (paint and any furniture)
