Oke grows mighty kids by building productive gardens in Auckland schools, working with the local community to get them built.

Through our "Growing A Future" initiative, the Oke Charity builds gardens at South Auckland Schools. Oke deliver a garden to each school which is built through a community working bee (in just ONE day) and includes all that is required to make it sustainable; raised beds, tunnel house, gardening tools for the kids, teachers (and even the caretaker), composting solutions, irrigation etc. Each Growing a Future project for a school costs $15,000 to put together from start to finish…at no cost to the school!!

Enabling the kids, teachers and whanau to get growing for years to come, means that Oke is investing in the future of its community.

To ensure these amazing spaces are sustained, Oke wants to support schools with hands on expertise in the shape of a School Mate! This brand new role will enable Oke to support schools as they grow, navigating all the seasons with support for the kids, teachers and the wider school community.

About us

Oke provide Kiwi kids the opportunity to learn life and social skills by introducing productive gardens into schools. By giving the kids the tools to learn, Oke are empowering schools and their communities, ultimately providing a better place for everyone.

Use of funds

Your donations will go towards the implementation of an Oke School Mate function, which will help sustain the school gardens Oke builds. The more funds raised, the more hours can be spent supporting our awesome schools.
