🌈SUPPORT to Olive during her journey + bring attention to cervical cancer. "Smea your Mea Wahine".💚

Northland

"KO TE WHAEA TE TAKERE O TE WAKA" (Mothers are like the hull of the canoe, they are the 💚heart of the family.)

This is you our dear friend.

"What can I say, we who all know you Olive, were devastated at hearing this news."💔

🌈Olive is one of those people, when you meet her, you won't forget her.

Even during her own "personal pandemic" she continues to give thanks and praises and put others first. A woman with a HUGE heart, 💚 hard working, kind and loving.

🌈Olive was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer stage 4, over a month ago.😔 She has said the messages of love and support have been over wealming, from the back blocks of the shearing sheds and from people far and wide.🙏

🌈She is a proud strong Wahine...a Mama, Wife, Daughter, Nanny, Sister, Mother inlaw, Auntie and Friend to many. Our dear friend would never think for a minute to ask for HELP. I mean, I had to beg her to do this page. All I could say to her was,

"Olive if what is given in the spirit of LOVE, accept it in the spirit of LOVE." 💚

🌈Olive is throwing everything, I mean everything at this and is very passionate about raising awareness and to promote advocacy through early detection of cervical cancer. She wants all Wahine to "smea their mea." This girl is not "tapping out."💚She has opted, also to have alternative treatment in the HOPE, to help enhance the chemotherapy she is receiving, which sad to say, comes at a cost but time is what she needs.

🌈 Like many of you who have beautiful memories with Ollie and her Whanau we could talk and laugh for hours. For example, Ina Green remembering Olive rescuing her wedding dress on her big day...but I think we all agree Olives korero said it with heart and soul in her F.B post recently. This in part, is some of her heartfelt words...(space does not allow me to publish all.)

🌈"LIFE REALLY IS PRECIOUS" ...I'm not one to share personal journeys but this kaupapa requires me to be RAW, VULNERABLE and HUMBLE. A diagnoses has changed a Whanau forever!! In just a few minutes our future pathway has been devastated.

🌈 I have only just turned 50...5 adult son's 4 married, 4 grandchildren and 3 grandsons due in 5 weeks. My son's have now moved home to the farm, returned from Australia, bringing my mokos...best recovery plan for my heart and soul, yes so very blessed!! We are KAEO beef farmers and shearing contractors across the Far North, working in a physically demanding industry.

We still have tears but today they are appreciation, gratitude and love. We truly realise the depth and breadth of support we have in this journey. 💚

"Ollie you are so brave, KIA KAHA, we love you, you got this!"👊

🌈He aroha whakato, he aroha putu mai.

(If kindness is sown, then kindness you shall

recieve.)

Our sincere thanks to you all,

Arohanui Sonya and Donny Stevenson.💚

🌈Olive Guy  5 November 2020

Olive continues to defy the odds. 🙏 Continuing on her Chemotherapy and Natural therapies she is staying positive and as strong as possible with the LOVE❤of her husband, family, mokos and friends.

🌈Some days are unbelievably bad with pain, bouts of nausea and trips to hospital. When Olive is good she is "living her best life" with a recent trip to Queenstown, ticking off her to do list. "All of us who love you dearly Olive send our Prayers Love and good VIBES to you, always. Kia Kaha our friend". "You got this".❤
