Ollie the Cockatiel's Epic Kiwi Adventure

I'm Ollie a crippled Cockatiel, hand-raised from a young chick at Bird Rescue and Rehoming, Cambridge. Along with Hoomum and Hoo-Pop (who are no spring chickens), I'll be shaking my tail feathers as I endeavour to walk the length of NZ via flaptabulous Te Araroa! Walking sections at a time in between work comittments (and weather), our Te Araroa adventure will take about two years to complete. My job is to spread joy to as many people as I can while raising money (and awareness) for Te Araroa Trust! We will endeavour to include extra walks and activities, join in with community or group pursuits, and of course share loads of photos, videos and stories on social media. In the hope to encourage feathered, furry, hairy, and hooman friends to get off the couch and explore their backyard, bush, beach, or trails, I'll be sharing a bird's-eye view of my epic Kiwi adventure on Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok.

So now to talk turkey... in gratitude for the opportunity this beautiful trail provides all Kiwis & international visitors, I'll be raising much needed funds for Te Araroa Trust, so they can continue their incredible work to maintain, preserve and protect this national treasure.
