My 6 year old dog and best friend Ollie, has recently been diagnosed with Lymphoma (cancer of the white blood cell).
This news has been devastating for my family and I. Everyone who knows him, knows what a hyperactive and joyful dog he has been since the day he came into our family.
The vet says he has ‘cell B’ type and this means it has a high chance of being receptive to chemo therapy.
The course he needs to have is 16 treatments over a course of around 6 months, each treatment being 700-800 dollars.
We have already spent over 5 thousand dollars on tests at the specialist so funds are extremely minimal.
Luckily we have pet insurance for him but unfortunately the funds are going to exceed the amount we have, costing us around $10,000 on top of what they can cover for us.
He has had one chemo treatment already and so far has come leaps and bounds compared to the sick dog he was before it. He is back to his normal self ever since which is something I never thought I would get to see again.
For anyone curious, chemotherapy for animals is a much less invasive treatment, the goal is little to no side effects as quality of life is the most important aim here.
Any donations would go a massive long way to helping us get another year or possibly more for this ball of fluff.
He means everything to me and I won’t forgive myself if I don’t do everything I can to give this little boy a better quality of life and all the loves he deserves.
