One Ashburton Family - Lives changed forever
Ashburton family affected by the car accident 7/9/26 at 5am, they lost one family member and the other is fighting hard in Christchurch.
Ashburton, Canterbury
Just after 5am on 7/9/26 there was a two car crash north of Ashburton, in one of the vehicles was a father and son travelling together to work together, like they did everyday.
10 minutes from home at the very start of their journey, struck by another car, sadly one life from this family was lost, while the other is fighting a critical fight in Christchurch Hospital. ACC may provide some support, however the family have not applied for this yet and it won't cover all costs.
PLEASE PLEASE even if it’s $1, $2 or $10 every little will help this family.
The Wife/Mother of this family of 7 now 6, is travelling back and forth to be by her husband’s side through this tragedy.
With 4 other children to take care of, bills to pay and a sense of not knowing how to cover expenses or what is around the corner, please help her to not have so many worries in her time of need.
Ashburton people, I know you rally after your own. Please please help this family in their time of need.

Use of funds
The funds will be put towards the Wife/mother travelling daily to Christchurch Hospital, bills while the father is unable to work. He has a long road to recovery ahead. To care for and help put food in the table for their 4 other children.

Simon has had his 4th surgery today, his leg is done up with nuts and bolts (don’t know how else to describe it)
He has also had further abdominal surgery again today, at the same time as the reconstruction on his left leg and foot.
He remains in ICU heavily sedated and on a ventilator, doing the breathing for him while his body recovers the trauma.
He is putting up an amazing fight and Kandy remains by his side refusing to leave.
I can speak on behalf of the family, that they are so grateful and amazed by the contributions and love from everyone who is helping.
