Support 17-year-old MeCayla as she bravely battles rare CIC-rearranged sarcoma during her final year of high school.
Waikato
Our beautiful 17-year-old daughter MeCayla should be spending her last year of high school surrounded by friends, books, and dreams for the future. Instead, she’s facing something no teenager should ever have to endure — a diagnosis of CIC-rearranged sarcoma, an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer.
One day, she was curled up reading her favourite novel and talking about university plans — the next, she was being sent for scans, biopsies, and chemotherapy. The speed at which life changed has been overwhelming.
MeCayla is kind, witty, and full of quiet strength. She finds comfort in the pages of a good book, and in the love of those around her. But this journey is long and tough. Her treatment will be intensive and ongoing. We’re doing everything we can as a family, but the financial strain of travel, time off work, medications, and care is growing.
We’re asking for help — from anyone willing to stand beside MeCayla as she faces the biggest fight of her life. Every donation, no matter how small, helps ease the burden so we can focus on supporting her every step of the way.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for being part of her story.
Funds will go toward covering bills, petrol for hospital visits, clothing for MeCayla during treatment, and any extra costs like possible scans or medical expenses along the way.
Baie dankie mater
