A young Kiwi chasing two world-stage opportunities in BMX and robotics, supported by a community helping turn dreams into real experiences.
Hawke's Bay
This July, Austin has an incredible opportunity to represent New Zealand on two international stages — in BMX racing and robotics.
In BMX, Austin has been selected as a wildcard entry for the 2026 BMX World Championships in Brisbane, competing in the 24” Cruiser class. BMX has been a huge part of his life, teaching him resilience, discipline, and how to push through challenges. Racing at Worlds gives him the chance to compete against top riders from around the globe and gain experience at the highest level.
At the same time, Austin is part of a robotics team that placed 2nd at both Regionals and the New Zealand FIRST LEGO League Nationals in 2025 for their innovation project, earning an invitation to the Asia Pacific Open Championship (APOC) in Sydney. Austin played a key role in developing the team’s innovation project, particularly in coding and game design — skills he has largely taught himself.
Balancing both sport and technology, this is a unique chance for Austin to grow, learn, and represent his country in two very different arenas.

“I’ve worked hard for this and I’m looking forward to testing myself at a world level in both BMX and robotics.”
Any support, big or small, would mean a lot to us and is sincerely appreciated.
Funds raised will go directly toward the essential costs of attending both events. This includes BMX race insurance, travel insurance, event entry fees, team uniforms, return flights from Hawke’s Bay, and accommodation for the duration of both competitions
