Hello, I'm Lisa Loomans, my husband (Joshua Loomans) was born with a small left foot and had to get it amputated soon after birth.
Josh started doing CrossFit to build up strength in his left leg, after falling in love with the sport he started doing competitions.
In recent years, CrossFit has become more inclusive and opened up an adaptive section, Josh embraced this and competed in the adaptive lower extremity World CrossFit games which he came 20th overall.
This led to Josh getting an invite to compete in the Oceania throwdown adaptive CrossFit competition, with the hope to qualify for finals in Brisbane Australia in September. Josh was successful, ranking 3rd overall, and earnt his spot in the finals alongside one other Kiwi.
Josh has such a passion for the sport. his dedication to training to get the result he wants to achieve is something I'm so proud of.
I have set up this page to help cover the costs of extra training, equipment, uniform, travel expenses, entry fees, and accommodation, and make Josh's dream come true to compete internationally.
