I’m a mum trapped under $43,000 of crushing debt, fighting every day for good life they deserve please help me break free

Wellington

Hi everyone,

I never thought I’d be here, asking for help — but I’m a mother trying to break free from $43,000 of crushing credit card debt.

I’ve been making payments on a GEM Visa card with 22.95% interest. But the truth is, nearly everything I pay goes to interest. The debt barely moves. I’m doing everything I can — budgeting, cutting back, looking into lower-interest options — but I feel stuck.

I didn’t get here through reckless choices. Life just got too hard for a while — unexpected bills, missed income, and the debt built up faster than I could stop it.

What hurts the most is how this affects my children. I want to give them a happy life, like any mother should — but right now I can’t even do the basics. I feel like I’m failing them.

I’m not asking for a handout — I’m asking for a chance. If I can pay this down, I can stop the interest from draining me every month and finally breathe again.

Every dollar helps — even $10 cuts future interest and brings me closer to giving my children a stable, peaceful home.

If you can’t donate, sharing this still means the world to me. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your kindness could change everything.
