One Step Closer to the Sea

My name is Alexis Bowater, I’m 11 years old, and I'm from Auckland, New Zealand. I absolutely love the ocean. My dream is to become a marine biologist one day, helping protect marine life and the ecosystems they call home.

I’ve been selected as one of only 30 students from my school to take part in a 6-day educational trip to Australia. This is an amazing opportunity to study coral reef ecology and ocean conservation. It’s one step closer to my dream of helping save our oceans!

I feel incredibly lucky to have been chosen, but now I need to raise $3,500 to make it happen. I’m putting in all my savings, skipping little extras like tuck shop lunches, and working hard by baking, helping out with jobs, and selling handmade items to show how much this means to me.
