Help my beard SAVE a LIFE - It could be yours.

  • Wowza...look at the donations roll in!

    Hey all, only 3 days left for anyone wishing to donate to Life Flight through my campaign.

    I have had lots of fun so far and the extra hair on my face has not gone unnoticed!

    I have been extremely lucky to have been supported by my wonderful customers, friends and family.

    Up until this last push, I have been mindful of asking my work colleagues to donate as throughout the month of May we give so much of our time and our own money to put on events to raise awareness and funds for Life Flight so I am mostly pleased to say that so far $2000 of the $2220 has been external sources.

    If anyone out there has made a donation and is looking for a receipt to claim it back in tax, please let me know by emailing me at brad_mccarthy@westpac.co.nz. The team at Life Flight are very accommodating with this.

    If you are thinking about donating please do so now. The momentum as we close in to the last day of fundraising has been inspiring.

    What we have already achieved for Life Flight has made me very proud.

    After the final donations are in there will only be one thing left to do with my beard....Chopper!! (Thanks Emz for that bit of inspiration)

  • 15 days to go... So close to $500 raised

    $445 at the time of this update. A big thank you to to my friends, family and loved ones - congratulations if you fit in to all three categories 😋

    15 days to go.

    The beard is way past the itchy stage however I'm now in the phase where I am trying to find a comfortable sleeping position...

    My beard is long enough to chew on - great hours after a tasty meal. Gross aye?! Good thing I'm only kidding...or am I?!

    Ive managed to give out half my business cards and I will be putting in a big push to get me closer to my target in the coming weeks.

    I have been thinking that the performance of shaving​ off my beard could be a great advertising gimmick to grab some attention for a smaller business.

  • First update... a long time coming!

    Hi all,

    A massive thank you to all that have donated so far.

    Who would have known how intensive growing a beard for charity would be!

    Or...how hard Photoshop is....?! Definitely a lot harder than it looks. Sadly this has meant I havent really been able to run this drive as I would have liked so now all you would be donators will have to put up with supporting a good cause.

    I promise to load more updates of the growing progress and I look forward to confirming more details about where and when my beard will be shaved off.

    The question on everyones lips will be WHO gets to shave it off.... Luckily YOU have the deciding vote on that.

    Remember that the highest bidder will get the chance to shave my face. Something that hasnt seen the light of day for a very long time...

    My beard has been growing now for 11 weeks all up and so far I am please with the results... and the comments!

    Remember that all proceeds will go to Life Flight via a Westpac approved account so if you havent donated to Life Flight and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter yet this is your chance to have a bit of fun :)
