Onehunga High is sending two football teams to Sydney and players are attempting the Maungakiekie Challenge for training and fundraising.

Onehunga High School is sending a selected group of our most promising male and female football players on a training and competition tour to Sydney. This tour is aimed at developing the next generation of 1st XI players through high-quality overseas experience, helping them grow not only as athletes but as confident and capable young people.

This tour is not just about football – it’s about opportunity, growth, and life experience. Your support will directly enable students who may not otherwise be able to afford international travel to take part in something truly formative.

The two teams will attempt the "Maungakiekie Challenge" on Sunday 15th March. This will consist of running around the perimeter of Cornwall Park and then up to the summit and back. Please help us get the teams get to Sydney.

Use of funds

Expenses for the trip to Sydney. This is an expensive trip and not all the players can afford such a cost. The fundraising will be split across all members of the team and the more raised the lower the costs.

Maunga Challenge 16 March 2026

Thank you so much for supporting the OHS footballers. On Sunday a group took on the Maunga Challenge at Cornwall Park - a great effort by everyone and excellent training ahead of the upcoming Sydney football trip.

We really appreciate the generosity of all the sponsors, families, and members of the community who have helped support the team and the school. Your encouragement makes a real difference.
