Onetangi Community Hall Repair and Painting Fund

Waiheke Island, Auckland

The Onetangi Community Hall has been a focal point for community activity since 1952 – a place where various social and special interest groups meet, to hold classes, share hobbies, sell local products, or stage performances.

The hall had its last major maintenance and painting almost thirty years ago. Now the hall is in desperate need of critical exterior maintenance on the roof and walls. This includes water blasting and repairing the roof, repairing defects and holes in the exterior walls, fixing and or replacing damaged spouting, and a fresh coat of paint for roof and the outside walls.

Through the work of the Onetangi Residents Association Committee, we have engaged contractors to do this work. However, this will use all the savings we have and not allow for other needed maintenance to ensure your hall is ready to use for another thirty years.

Please help us and the Onetangi Community by making a small or large donation to the Repair and Painting Fund.

Use of funds

Donations will be used to pay for essential repairs to roof and outside walls of the Onetangi Community Hall, including the painting of the roof and outside walls.

If we do not reach the target, we will continue with the repairs and seek other funding.

Latest update

We are slowly getting there  20 May 2023

Thanks to everyone who has donated either direct to the Onetangi Hall bank account or to this Givealittle page.

We have raised a little over $5000 and hope to get more (of course!) If we can get another $5000 plus what we have earned from the hall rental over the last years, we can fund this project. The Vector high voltage line that stopped the initial work is almost resolved so we are back on track to start the repair and painting in July (weather permitting!!)

Steven and Paula, thank you so much for very generous donation. We are slowly getting there between the givealittle account and direction donations to our account. With support like yours, we should be on track to get the repairs underway by July once the Vector issue is sorted. With the help of the community, the hall will be here for many years to come. Tom
