Onyx our fighter

Our beautiful, much loved emotional support, family cat was attacked by two dogs yesterday. My mum returned home from work to find our beloved boy unable to walk, at closer examination she realised he had been attacked, was bleeding quite badly with big opened wounds. He was rushed to the vets who with brief examination said it wasn’t looking good. Onyx was taken in for X-rays and had an IV with fluids and strong painkillers administered. The vets have thankfully found there is currently no internal bleeding or broken bones. After reviewing our security camera footage it has been determined two pit bull looking dogs have come into my mums property, onyx’s own home and attacked him badly. Onyx does have a broken tooth, significant punctures to his stomach, chest and private areas, missing claws and is very traumatised. The vets are advising against euthanasia and say his prognosis is good. So we will not give up on our baby. This however has traumatised our whole family and put massive financial pressure on my mum who is having to pay for his vet bills. Onyx currently is spending his days at our family vet and nights at Massey for overnight care being transported by mum. His vet bill is currently at around $3500 and only expected to get higher with 24/7 critical care required. Animal control are aware and are very keen to find out who these dogs belong to. Any help would be so great-fully appreciated to give our boy the best chance of survival.
