Two "roach" heads have been made. They've been glued up properly since this image was taken and are waiting to be paper mached up, before having a coat of paint and little bit of glossy finish to the eyes.
They're attached to old bike helmets for our performers to wear.
Here we have Noah working on taping up the starting base structure of the "roach" head.
It all starts with simple and rough shapes, held together by tape. Then as it worked on further, it starts shaping up how it's intended.
We've been having good progress on designing and creating the costumes for our insect creatures. It's all coming together rather quickly now!
Whipped up a poster for Ootheca today with a bit of photo-mashing in Photoshop. Hopefully will help promote this project more.
This won't be the final poster, a better "official" one will be made later on.
Thought I'd post the test shoot we shot and edited from earlier this year. A sort of bare bones version of one of the scenes to test out working in a small space and to prototype one of the creatures.
