Help our miracle babies who are fighting to stay alive.
Bay of Plenty
Being sent up to Auckland for more scans it was then confirmed, sitting in a small room with my partner by my side, in came 3 people and I knew something was just not right.
They pretty much just said our baby has heart complications that could only be helped but never fixed by numerous amounts of surgery's throughout his life. They also said our baby doesn't have a chance of surviving.. I was told that I could still go through with the pregnancy, but when the time came to actually giving birth to our son - they would inject him with some sort of medication that would stop his heart so he would come out dead.
My partners immediate reaction was HELL NO! Out loud to the people explaining this to us.. as you may of guessed, we went through with the pregnancy not knowing if we were going to be coming home with or without a baby, so I decided not to buy many things for him except the basics like clothes and nappies.
We welcomed our son into the world and he was taken away from us immediately. I didn't get to see him for almost a whole day and when I did see him, I didn't get to touch him or hold him. He had open heart surgery at just 4 days old - being first time parents things were different for us. Our son didn't recover so quickly, he had complications - he also needed another surgery at just 2 months old because he was dropping his oxygen levels really low and was turning blue! Our son is due for another 3 more surgery's throughout the year and because of that, myself and my partner have both given up our jobs to take care of our son! To us, family is everything and I'm sure if you were in our shoes - you too will give up your job to look after your sick child and do anything possible to keep them safe and well. Eventually we will return back to work when we feel like the time is right, but for now we would like to enjoy our time with our little Heart Warrior while he is still here with us today.
Funds will be paid into a combined account to baby Royals parents.
Money raised will be going towards traveling back and forth to Auckland for check ups and more surgery's, day to day living and any excess will go straight to the Ronald McDonald Charity - because without them, this journey would of been a struggle.
Funds Raised. 7 March 2019
Hey everyone! Just letting you all know we are so over the moon with the amount of love and donations recieved for baby Royal-Hunter.
Just letting you know also we all have a shared bank account aswell as baby Royals account being joined in with ours and all the funds will be going straight into his parents bank accounts - from there we will be using what we need for his next surgery coming up in April 2019. We are also going to be raffling off our 2008 Mazda 6 car, and donating $3,000 of that money to the Ronald McDonald House, Starship and Heart Kids.
Thank you for the love and for helping our baby. We appreciate it so much and wouldn't know where we would be without you all.
