Operation Christmas Dinner provides Christmas dinner for families that can be prepared within the family home, helping to create memories and traditions that last.
Christmas 2022 was the inception of Operation Christmas Dinner. It started with the realisation that we were seeing families who did not have the resources to provide a Christmas meal for their families.
From fathers who had their children on Christmas day, to the retired, single mums struggling to catch a break, and grandparents raising grandchildren. Some referred from agencies and others from friends and family, but all in need.
Dinners consisted of roast meat, potatoes, carrots, peas and salad, pavlova and cream, fruit salad, jelly and ice cream, Christmas treats, drink, croissants, and cold meat. Enough for dinner plus extra.
To restore hope in individuals and communities by providing people with spiritual, emotional and practical solutions to their needs and being a catalyst for social change.
Our target is to provide 50 families with Christmas dinners within the North Canterbury region. The funds will be used to purchase items to make up the Christmas dinner parcels.
