Operation KarangaHAPPY New year for our Homeless community on Karangahape road.

I feel a huge nostalgic connection to the culture, diversity and humans of Karangahape road Auckland. Like many I spend most of my time wandering along the bustling street popping in and out of Opshops, dancing, smiling and drinking chai at the cafes and bars. Unfortunately this is NOT everyone's experience of this road. This road is home to many of Auckland's Homeless community and the street is tainted by our terrible statistics. The street is tainted by broken familys, mental illness, addiction, loss, trauma, tainted by to many people who have been dealt to many bad cards. When buying a man a $10 summer sleeping bag and a chocolate bar last week I had the thought of making a give a little page to buy New year packages/presents for our Homeless community on Karangahape road. Each package containing some essential items like sleeping bags, toothbrushes, sanitary items etc... and also just some nice presents, Coloring books, art supply's, chocolate etc... The reason why I am targeting Karangahape road ONLY is because I think its unrealistic to do this for all of Auckland CBD. Let’s face it Covid has hit us all hard this year and this community deserves the best start we can give them to 2021!
